Introduction

This guide introduces how to interpret and use the Multimedia Duplicated Image indicators within the Content Solutions platform. These tools help suppliers identify and address repeated image issues across properties, improving content quality and distribution effectiveness.

What Are Duplicated Images?

Duplicated images are identical files uploaded across the same properties. High duplication rates can negatively impact the platform’s content diversity and reduce visual appeal for end users.

Key Indicators Explained

On the Categories > Multimedia page, the platform displays the following metrics:

Duplicated Images Count

  • Shows the number of exact duplicate image instances detected
  • Format: Duplicated / Total Images
  • Example: 54,153 / 73,427 (73.8%)

Properties with Duplicates

  • Shows how many properties have at least one duplicated image
  • Format: Affected Properties / Total Properties
  • Example: 140 / 11,866 (1.2%)

Category-Level Duplication

  • Each OTA image category (e.g., "Guest room", "Lobby view") includes:
    1. Completeness: Number of properties with at least one image in this category
    2. Duplication: Percentage of duplicated images within that category

How to Use the Duplication Tools

Step 1. View Duplication Summary

  • Navigate to: Multimedia > Categories
  • Select a Context Code
  • Review top-level metrics and per-category duplication percentages
  • You can also use the Export Duplicates button in the top-right corner to download raw duplication data for bulk review.

Step 2. Investigate a Specific Category

  • Click a row (e.g., "Guest room") to open a detailed duplication list
  • You’ll see a table of duplicated image pairs with:
    1. Property Code & Name
    2. Image A vs Image B thumbnails
    3. Action button to view details

Step 3. Analyze Duplicated Image Details

  • Click View to open a comparison drawer
  • You can:
    1. See both images side-by-side
    2. Confirm URL and source of each image
    3. Navigate across image pairs using pagination

Tips for Resolving Duplicates

  • Use varied angles or room types where applicable
  • Avoid reusing brand stock images across properties
  • Regularly audit top duplicated categories (e.g., Lobby, Exterior)
  • Export duplicate reports and prioritize top offenders
